Roberts Wesleyan welcomes new CFO

Roberts Wesleyan University is welcoming Steven Morse as the University’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Vice President for Innovation and Organizational Effectiveness. As CFO, he will develop and implement the business and fiscal services to support the mission of Roberts Wesleyan University and Northeastern Seminary. He will provide strategic leadership for key campus departments, including finance and contract service departments, like the bookstore and dining services. In his role as VP for Innovation and Organizational Effectiveness, he will serve as a strategic advisor and partner to the President and Cabinet to drive innovation and organizational effectiveness for the University. He will report directly to President Rupert A. Hayles Jr., Ph.D.

“Steven brings a distinguished record of achievement, both professionally and personally,” said President Hayles. “I am confident his experience will elevate our campus and community at Roberts Wesleyan University and Northeastern Seminary. As a vital member of our leadership team, Steven will play a key role in shaping the vision, planning and operational efficiency across our institution.”

Prior to joining Roberts Wesleyan, Morse served as a director at the Bonadio Group in its Advisory and Consulting group, providing consultative services specifically designed to improve operations, compliance, internal controls and efficiency for colleges and universities and not-for-profit organizations. Throughout his career, Morse has also held leadership positions at Rochester Institute of Technology, National Technical Institute of the Deaf, Genesee Corporation and Deloitte.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the Saunders College of Business at RIT, is a New York State licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds the certification of Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a current member of the Society’s Board of Directors and a current Trustee of the Society’s Foundation for Accounting Education affiliate, among other professional affiliations.

In his community, Morse serves on the board of directors at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance and the Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts and is on the Saunders College of Business Accounting Advisor Board. He’s a volunteer firefighter in the Penfield Fire Company, serves as the secretary of the Penfield Fire District and is a member of the Vision and Missions teams of Penfield United Methodist Church, where he is a member.
