Walk to School Day at Brockport CSD October 2

Brockport Central School District is participating in its 19th annual International Walk to School Day on Wednesday, October 2.

Since 1997, communities have been coming together for Walk to School Day, and Brockport has been participating since 2006. Families are invited to walk, bike or scooter to school to celebrate the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The elementary school and OMS class with the highest percentage of walkers will be presented with the Walk to School trophy/plaque.

Students should enter through their school’s main door at their normal start time to ensure they are counted. All schools will begin on time, and students should not be dropped off early. Buses will run as scheduled.

Younger children must walk with an adult. Community volunteers will be stationed at intersections and at the schools to greet and encourage students.

Families wishing to participate, but live too far away, may park and walk from Bill Gray’s or Our Village Optician – please park in the lot across from Brockport Diner. Apples donated by local farms will be available at both Bill Gray’s and Our Village Optician.

This event will occur rain or shine. Families should use their judgment in the event of inclement weather.

Children are encouraged to wear their Brockport blue, and families can share photos using the hashtag #Walk2BCSD 2024.
