Byron-Bergen teacher receives donation for classroom

This October, the SONIC Foundation, through its Limeades for Learning® initiative, provided $1.25 million to match donations to classroom projects requesting books through DonorsChoose, a website that allows people to donate directly to classroom requests submitted by teachers across the U.S.

Mrs. Taylor-Burns at Byron-Bergen Elementary School received a donation of $63 toward the project “Creating Lifelong Readers: Enhancing Literacy With Bookshelves.” The project’s goal was to cultivate a culture of literacy by establishing a cozy reading nook where students could engage with a diverse selection of books.

The $277 project was fully funded through various donations and the items were ordered in early October.
