SUNY Brockport VP selected as one of RBJ’s “Women of Excellence”

Dr. Sara Kelly, SUNY Brockport Vice President for Enrollment Management, has been recognized by the Rochester Business Journal (RBJ) as one of its 2025 “Women of Excellence.” The award recognizes outstanding women for their professional accomplishments, community leadership, and mentoring.

Dr. Kelly has served in a number of different roles since joining the SUNY Brockport staff in 2007 and was appointed as Vice President in 2023, taking the helm of recruitment and retention efforts at a time when both were in a significant post-pandemic decline and the University was facing a structural budget deficit.

She led SUNY Brockport’s efforts to adopt a Strategic Enrollment Management framework, which shifted the university’s culture from enrollment being a divisional priority to a comprehensive institutional effort. Overall enrollment has grown 17 percent over the last two years – the largest growth experienced by any of SUNY’s comprehensive universities.

Dr. Kelly is also committed to giving back to the community, serving on the boards of Rochester Regional Healthcare Services and the Rochester Education Foundation. She also volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House.
