Brockport CSD to host 20th annual Walk to School Day

The Brockport Central School District will host its 20th Annual Walk to School Day on October 1, with this year’s theme: Miles of Memories: 20 Years of Walk to School Day.

Since 1997, communities around the world have celebrated International Walk to School Day, and Brockport has proudly participated for 20 years. Families are encouraged to walk, bike, or scooter to school to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. The elementary school and OMS grade level with the highest percentage of walkers will be awarded the Walk to School trophy/plaque.

Students should arrive at their regular start time and enter through the main door; buses will run as scheduled, and younger children must walk with an adult. Families who live too far to walk may park at Bill Gray’s or Our Village Optician and join the walk from there. Apples donated by local farms will be available at both locations, and community volunteers will be stationed along the route to greet students – rain or shine.
