Backpack giveaway supports local students
As part of a community-wide effort to support local students, McDonald’s restaurants across Upstate New York gave away more than 7,000 backpacks filled with school supplies at special events earlier this month. This initiative, led by McDonald’s Owner/Operators across the region, brought together local schools, civic leaders, and community organizations to help children and families start the school year prepared and confident. There were smiling students, thankful parents and local McDonald’s teams making a difference in the neighborhoods where they live and work.
Hilton McDonald’s Owner Operator Rod Miller held his event alongside the Hilton Fire Department, Parma Public Library, Styles by Dawn, and a talented crew of face painters. “McDonald’s is a gathering place for the families and neighbors here in the Hilton area,” Miller said. “Giving away backpacks is just one of the ways we show our appreciation and commitment to the community. It’s an honor to help students head back to school feeling prepared and confident for the year ahead.”
Local McDonald’s Owner Operator Louis Buono Jr. held an event at his Spencerport location on August 18. “We are so proud to be able to give back to the communities that support us every day. Hosting our backpack giveaway event was a meaningful way to help students start the school year with confidence,” Buono said. “We love being part of the Spencerport community and are grateful for the chance to support the people who make it so special.”
