Brockport Board of Education: Student Board Member

The Brockport Board of Education has appointed the District’s first Student Board Member, Ella Zelazny.

Beginning July 1, 2025, New York State requires every school district to include a student representative on its Board of Education. This initiative is designed to foster civic engagement and empower students to contribute meaningfully to the development of district policies and operations.

Ms. Zelazny will serve on the Board of Education through June 26, 2026. She will attend all public meetings and hearings and provide regular reports offering the student perspective on matters affecting the District.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Zelazny as our first Student Board Member,” said Superintendent Sean Bruno. “Her insights will be invaluable in helping our District better serve our school community.”

Brockport Board of Education meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6 p.m. and typically last about an hour.
