Chili Soccer Association Receives Grant

The Chili Soccer Association has been awarded a $5,000 grant through the Tops Friendly Markets Youth Soccer Sweepstakes, recognizing the organization’s longstanding commitment to youth soccer in the Rochester area.

Selected from hundreds of nominations submitted by Tops customers, the Chili Soccer Association was one of three youth soccer organizations in New York and Pennsylvania chosen to receive funding. The sweepstakes celebrated the excitement of international soccer while supporting local programs that help young athletes develop teamwork, confidence, and life skills.

Known as Rochester’s original soccer club and one of New York State’s oldest, the nonprofit offers a range of programs for local youth based on age and experience, including tykes programs, house, travel, and elite travel teams. The organization also hosts several annual tournaments, including the Chili Travel Tournament (spring), CSA Hot Dog Cup (summer), and the Pink the Field tournament, which raises funds for the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.

“We’re proud to support these outstanding soccer organizations and the work they do to give local kids the chance to take the field and learn the game,” said Ron Ferri, president of Tops Markets.
