Brockport hosts Rangers for Military Appreciation Night
The Brockport Girls Volleyball program will be hosting their 2nd Annual Military Appreciation Night on Tuesday, October 1. The JV team will play a match at 4:30 p.m. immediately followed by the varsity team at 6 p.m. at A.D. Oliver Middle School main gym. Both matches are against the visiting Spencerport Rangers. To honor the nation’s military servicemen and servicewomen, all players and coaches will be wearing camouflage t-shirts. Additionally, there will be prize baskets raffled off (donated by local merchants) throughout the evening. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation http://www.specialops.org/.
The Brockport High School choral department will have a group on hand to sing a patriotic song and the National Anthem. A moment of silence prior to the start of the varsity match will honor those who are or have previously served the country.
At last year’s event, over $1,000 was raised for the Wounded Warrior Project.
