Rangers sweep Spartans

Spencerport’s boys volleyball team received contributions from everyone on the roster as they swept visiting Gates-Chili 25-12, 28-26, 25-16.
Senior Anthony Macera had a late kill and an ace in the first game and the Rangers overcame a brief 22-21 deficit to take game two as Tim Olmstead served an ace for the final point.
Caleb Ramos and Michael Mahoney each had a pair of kills while Ramos added a block in game three.
Rangers’ setter Greg Toms had 12 assists, Kyle Coburn and Dan Sullivan each led with five kills while Mahoney had four kills and Sean Clarke added three. Dakota VanBrederode led the defensive effort with three kills and Jack Wedow had two. Ramos had two-and-a-half block for the 3-1 Rangers.
