The Jim Mercer Memorial Tennis Tournament was played under ideal sunny cool conditions. Jim Mercer, a Brockport resident, played tennis over six decades and was well known to anyone who played at the high school tennis courts. More than 20 players from the area participated. This year also had an international flavor with players from Brazil, Australia, Canada and England. As a result of the tournament $75 was donated to the American Cancer Society in Jim’s memory.
