Chmylak nets OT winner

Holley’s boys soccer team saw a 2-0 second half lead evaporate, but rebounded on a goal by Tyler Chmylak 2:08 into the first overtime session to help the Hawks defeat Byron-Bergen 3-2.

Senior Brandon Meiers set up the first Holley goal in the 32nd minute when he raced down the right sideline and centered a pass to freshman Andrew Cary, who one-touched around a Bees defender before rifling a shot off the Byron-Bergen goalkeeper’s hands that dribbled across the goal-line for a 1-0 lead.

Just 1:01 into the second half, the Hawks made it 2-0 as Brandon Moore put his shot off the left post and the rebound went directly to Levi Fahmer, who found the net.

The Bees got on the scoreboard four minutes later as Jake Lovelace found Jordan Coffta for a goal.
The Bees tied the game in the 62nd minute when Andrew Cczepanski put his 25-yard direct kick just under the crossbar.

The game-winner came as a result of a perfect through pass by Cary sending Chmylak in on the Bees net.
Holley goalkeeper Josh Porter and Byron-Bergen keeper Brandon Burke were each credited with five saves in the contest.
