Two C-C Jr. Saints teams win divisions

In an undefeated season, both the A and C Teams of the Churchville Chili Jr. Saints won the 2013 American Division Championships of the American Youth Football and Cheerleading League (AYFCL) on October 27. Just in their second year in the program, “the teams had an incredible season,” according to Mike Godfrey, president of the CC Jr. Saints.

In a defensive battle, the C Squad won in overtime with a 6 to 0 victory over the Greece Cardinals. Running back Xavien Collier scored the game-winning touchdown on the 4th down to seal the win and Championship. Some huge one-on-one tackles by Brock Osborne and Cameron Taylor stopped the Cardinals’ drives throughout the game.

The A Level Jr. Saints had a convincing win by defeating the Greece Cardinals 41 to 13. Scores from Ryan Rupp, Sage Smith, Nazari Tisdale, Hunter Gill, and Ethan Branch, brought home the championship trophy.
