Spencerport student-athletes participate in community/volunteer projects
Spencerport fall varsity athletic teams participated in a volunteer community service/charity project through the Spencerport Student-Athletes Care Program during the 2013 fall season.
•Boys Soccer – Inventoried and distributed books and supplies at the high school during the summer
•Girls Soccer – Inventoried new textbooks at the high school during the summer; assisted with the Deb Moyer Bone Marrow Drive and participated in the Mary Cariola “Walking on Sunshine” Event
•Girls Swimming – Participated in the Making Strikes Against Breast Cancer Walk, donated $1,300
•B/G Cross Country – Volunteered at a water stop at the Rochester Marathon and participated in the Black Creek Park 5K donating $160 to the benefitting scholarship funds
•Girls Tennis – Volunteered at a water stop during the Rochester Marathon which was held to benefit the Arthritis Foundation
•Football – Participated in the “Parkinson’s Walk” in honor of longtime volunteer Robert “Pop” Dennis and donated $320 to the National Parkinson’s Foundation
•Boys Volleyball – Conducted a free youth volleyball clinic
•Girls Volleyball – Volunteered at Spencerport Lions Club Craft Sale and helped fundraise for The Wounded Warrior Foundation
•Fall Cheerleading – Participated in the “Parkinson’s Walk” in honor of longtime volunteer, Robert “Pop” Dennis and donated $320 to the National Parkinson’s Foundation
