Bright Raven gymnasts, Megan Stevens of Brockport and Madison Conn of Chili, both earned gold medals at the USA Gymnastics Level 9 State Championships held March 22 at The College at Brockport.
Twelve-year old Madison Conn competed in the Child A Division and took first place in vault scoring a 9.40. Megan Stevens, age 16, competed in the Senior B Division and earned first place in floor exercise with a score of 9.225. Stevens also medalled in two other events, placing fourth on balance beam and sixth on vault.
Both Conn and Stevens earned high all around scores qualifying them to advance to the USAG Regional Championships to be held in Springfield, Massachusetts April 11 – 13. Madison Conn totaled 34.625 finishing in eighth place and Megan Stevens finished in ninth place with a 34.425 all around. At Regionals, they will compete with top gymnasts from the New England states in addition to New York.
