Bright Raven Gymnast Megan Stevens earned both gold and silver medals at the USA Gymnastics Level 9 Regional Championships held April 11-13 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Megan Stevens, age 17, of Brockport earned a gold medal for her performance in floor exercise with the highest score of 9.375. She was also awarded a silver medal for second place on balance beam with a score of 9.225. Stevens qualified to compete in the Regional Championships by earning a high all around score at the Level 9 New York State Championship held March 22 at SUNY Brockport. At the State Meet, she also took first place on floor exercise and finished fourth on balance beam.
Teammate Madison Conn, age 12, of Chili also qualified for the Regional Championships with a high all around score at the State Meet. At States, Conn took first on vault. At Regionals, she finished eighth with a score of 9.125.
The Regional Championships included gymnasts from all of the New England States in addition to New York. Stevens and Conn are both members of Bright Raven Gymnastics of Gates.
