Raleigh tosses three-hitter for Cadets
Hilton pitcher Josh Raleigh limited Brockport to just three hits while designated hitter Scott Eisenmenger had five RBIs as the Cadets shutout the Blue Devils 15-0 in boys baseball.
Hilton exploded for eight runs in the second inning. Catcher Dominic Palma led off with a walk and Raleigh singled. Third baseman Brent Turpyn drove in Palma with a single to center, Matt Butts was credited with an RBI on an infield error that scored Raleigh and Mitch Wolf plated another run when he beat out an infield single.
Right fielder Sean Robson made it 4-0 with an RBI single before Eisenmenger cleared the bases with a three-RBI triple to right center. He later scored on a sacrifice fly by Palma.
The Cadets put the game out of reach with six more runs in the third inning.
After Josh Crocetti reached on an error and Turpyn singled down the left field line, Butts knocked in Crocetti on an RBI fielder’s choice. After a pitching change and a walk to Alex Hendry loaded the bases, Robson drew an RBI walk before Eisenmenger plated two more with a single to center. Palma then knocked in Hendry with a sacrifice fly.
The Cadets manufactured their final run in the sixth as Austin Metzger reached on a one-out infield single, Tobie DiCesare sent him to third with a bloop single and Lucas LaJuett knocked him in with a single to make it 15-0.
Raleigh only allowed single hits in the third, fourth and seventh innings while striking out two in earning the complete game win.
“It’s sometimes tough to pitch with a big lead, but he stayed aggressive the whole way,” said Hilton head coach Jeff Murphy. “When he does that, he is very tough to beat.”
In addition to Eisenmenger’s five RBI effort, Robson, Butts and Palma each finished with two runs batted in for the Cadets.
