Bowl-A-Roll invites kids to “Say Yes to Bowling” this summer
Bowl-A-Roll, located at 1560 Jefferson Road in Henrietta, is once again offering its “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling” program this summer. The program is supported and endorsed by the local D.A.R.E. – or Drug Abuse Resistance Education – program, law enforcement agencies, parent-teacher organizations and local school districts.
Last year, over 50,000 students from school districts in the Greater Rochester area participated.
“Yes, it’s a significant investment on our part,” said Bill Fortino, Bowl-A-Roll’s General Manager. “But, we believe it’s an investment in our community’s future. Bowling is a lifetime sport that can be enjoyed by anyone – any age, any size and any background. We believe this program gives the kids something to do this summer that is positive and constructive.”
The program provides special identification cards to every student in the Greater Rochester area. The cards entitle them to one free game of bowling per day every day from now through August. Bowling shoes are included.
The first time students use their card, they will be registered for Bowl-A-Roll’s free Birthday Club and “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling” Club and will be eligible for prize drawings. Students are also invited to participate in group activities – including D.A.R.E. and other safety awareness presentations – and an end-of-season bowling bash.
Bowl-A-Roll has also announced the creation of its “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Bowling” President’s Fitness Challenge, with a goal to unite bowling centers across the country in a common effort to promote bowling as a physical activity, increase opportunities for youth to become physically active outside of school and complement schools’ physical education programs by providing additional activity after school and during school breaks and holidays.
