Bright Raven gymnasts, Megan Stevens of Brockport and Madison Conn of Chili, both earned gold medals at the USA Gymnastics Level 9 State Championships held March 28-29 in Gates at the Gates Chili Spartan Field House.
Eighteen-year-old Megan Stevens of Brockport captured first place in floor exercise scoring a 9.20 competing in the Senior C Division. Stevens also placed fifth on vault and sixth on balance beam.
Thirteen year-old Madison Conn of Chili earned first place on vault with a 9.475 and also placed third on bars, fourth on balance beam and fifth all around competing in the Child C Division. Conn’s high all-around score of 36.175 has qualified her to advance in USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Competition. She was to compete in Regionals in Springfield, Massachusetts where she had the opportunity to compete with top gymnasts from the New England States in addition to New York.
