Crew team rows the Erie Canal
The McQuaid crew team of seven young men will spend eight days, rowing the entire 340 mile distance of the Erie Canal, across the length of New York state. They began at the University at Buffalo boat house on Friday, June 19 and plan to finish eight days later at the Waterford Visitor Center in Albany and the Hudson River on Friday, June 26.
Hosted by the crew program at McQuaid Jesuit High School, this event is organized by the McQuaid 17 year old high school student-athletes, with support from coaches and families. The Row For Hope is a benefit for the American Cancer Society. Many of our crew families have been touched by cancer, including losing three parents over the past years.
The McQuaid Row For Hope Crew Team has been recognized in the Top 2 Schools and Teams in the nation among all American Cancer Society teams.
