Dates, team depth push Rangers swimmmers to win
A pair of individual firsts plus a relay team win by Nicole Dates and superior team depth launched Spencerport to a 101-84 win over Brockport in girls swimming.
Dates took the 500-yard freestyle in 5:34.00 and, just two events later, the 100-yard backstroke in 1:07.99. With Amber White, Emma Kane and Rachel Ellison, she swam the first leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay in 2:07.17.
Ellison also won the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.44. Samantha Gionta, Kayla Saladyga and Ava Shortino finished 1-2-3 in the diving competition.
For the Blue Devils, Khavy Sangasy had two firsts – in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:06.01 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:11.64. Caroline Martin won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:11.04, Marlayna DiFante the 200-yard individual medley in 2:29.32 and Angelina Lockhart touched first in the 50-yard freestyle in :28.47.
Spencerport’s Leah Ingraham, Celeste Keyes had two second place finishes and Amanda Ventrella , Mia Krolxzyk each added single runner-up individual results.
