Rangers poolers swamp Brighton

Jared Kettinger and Max Wersinger each had first place finishes in two individual events and were part of two winning relay teams to lead 2-1 Spencerport to a 109-76 victory in boy’s swimming.

Kettinger finished first in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:08.21 and the 100-yard butterfly in :56.50. Wersinger took the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyles with winning times of 1:54.34 and 5:09.24 respectively.

Both were part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team with Alex Gunther and Jonah Bates in 1:36.03 and the 400-yard freestyle relay with Evan Napper and Matthew Kegler in 3:39.87.

Gunther also won the 50-yard freestyle in :24.88 and took second in diving. Ian Gillis touched first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.55. The Rangers swept the top three spots in the backstroke with Zachary Nau and Eric Stein taking second and third.

The meet-opening 200-yard medley relay team of Gillis, Andrew Cole, Stein and Gunther won with a time of 1:57.31.

Diver Corey Neas of Brighton set a Spencerport pool record with a 6-dive score of 334.75.
