Spencerport will host the 50th Annual Teike Bernabi Wrestling Tournament sponsored by the Spencerport Rotary Club on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 29 and 30, at the Spencerport High School East Gym.
Teams from New York, including state ranked teams from Shenendehowa (Section 2), Johnson City (Section 4) and Lockport (Section 6) as well as host Spencerport will participate. Also scheduled to participate are teams from Sections 2,3,4,5,6, CHSAA and Pennsylvania.
Preliminaries will start on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Wrestling will begin again on Wednesday at 9 a.m. with Semifinals slated for 2 p.m. and the Finalist ceremony at 5:45 p.m. followed by the Championship Finals at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $2 for all day Tuesday and for the first session Wednesday and $3 for the Finals on Wednesday.
The following schools, along with host Spencerport, are scheduled to wrestle:Canisius (CHSAA), Carthage (Section 3), Cheektowaga (Section 6), Clarence (Section 6), East Aurora/Holland (6), Gates-Chili (Section 5), Geneva (Section 5), Greece Storm (Section 5), Grove City (PA), Iroquois (Section 6), Irondequoit (Section 5), Johnson City (Section 4), Lancaster (Section 6), Lockport (Section 6), Niagara Falls High School (Section 6), Rush Henrietta (Section 5), St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute (CHSAA), Shenendehowa (Section 2), Wayne (Section 5), Wilson Magnet (5).
