Bright Raven gymnasts competed in the USA Gymnastics State Championships held at SUNY Brockport March 18 through 20 earning gold and qualifying to represent New York State at Regionals.
Fourteen-year-old Madison Conn of Chili earned a gold medal for her performance in the vaulting competition. Conn competed as Level 9 in the Junior B age division and also placed second in floor exercise, third on balance beam and second all around with a 36.80.
Fifteen-year-old Anneka Haber of Pittsford competed in the Level 9 Senior A division and placed third on the uneven parallel bars and third all around with a 36.125. Both gymnasts’ high all around scores qualified them to advance to USAG Level 9 Regionals held April 8 through 10 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Twenty-year-old Emily Thomas of North Chili competed in the Senior Xcel Diamond Competition and earned five gold medals by winning every event in addition to the all around competition. Emily’s high all around score of 37.625 has qualified her to advance to the Xcel Regional competition May 21 through 22 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.
The Bright Raven Xcel Diamond Team earned second place at the State Championships with the contributing efforts of Kristen Godshall of Spencerport and Morgan Vanderhoof of Chili.
