Six pitchers combined for a no-hitter as fifth seed Hilton defeated 12th-seed Edison 25-0 in the first round of the Class AA Section V playoffs.
Michael Murphy, Brent Turpyn, Justin Resseguie, Morgan Kunigan, Brian Wolf and Max Hendry limited the Inventors to just two base-runners who reached on errors. They struck out 13 batters in all.
Jack Annable, Chase Metzger and Resseguie each had three RBI’s while Dominic Palma, Kunigan, Jake Bodamer and John Chiappone each drove in two runs.
The Cadets jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first inning before batting around twice in the second and scoring 12 runs. Four of those came on consecutive bases-loaded walks.
Daniel Chatterton and Kyle Pellechia both had RBI singles in the third.
The Cadets advance to play fourth-seed Penfield in the second round.
