Spencerport’s first doubles team of David Debellis and Tyler MacDonald overcame a first set loss to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 to give the Rangers a 4-3 win over Canandaigua in the Section V quarterfinals. Hilton didn’t lose a single set in a 7-0 shutout over Edison.
Rangers second singles Matthew Davis also lost his first set 1-6 before rebounding with resounding 6-1, 6-1 wins in the final two. Third singles Tyler DeCosse won his match 6-1, 7-6 while second doubles Quin Carr and Spencer Curtis also took a 6-2, 7-6 decision.
For the Cadets, Tyler Barwald, Austin Schmitt, Jeff Hibbard and Brady Ferrell all took 6-0, 6-0 decision at first-fourth singles respectively.
First doubles Liam Bennett and Joe Callery also won 6-0, 6-0 while second doubles Mike Cunico and Nick Lyons and third doubles Simon Garno and Brett Healey both won via forfeit.
Hilton won the Division III regular season title with a 4-0 record with Spencerport taking the Division IV crown with a 5-0 campaign.
