Brockport Smiles makes free mouth guards for Brockport football athletes
Brockport Smiles dental practice will supply the Brockport Blue Devil varsity football athletes a free custom fitted mouth guard for the upcoming football season. Brockport Smiles recently welcomed a new dentist, Dr. Joseph Russo to the practice. Dr. Joe is a former D1 football player from Lafayette College where he earned his undergraduate degree.
The National Youth Sports Foundation for the Prevention of Athletic Injuries reports that if an athlete is not wearing a mouth guard, damage to the teeth is 60 times more likely. A mouth guard isn’t just for protecting teeth, it can help prevent lacerations, fractures, concussions and dislocations.
As a dentist, as well as a former D1 football player, Dr. Joe understands the importance of wearing a mouth guard while playing sports. Protecting a player’s safety with a proper mouth guard is something everyone at Brockport Smiles is passionate about.
Brockport Smiles will host an after-hours event on Tuesday, August 9 at 5:30 p.m. at their office at 64 North Main Street, Brockport. The catered event is open to the players and their families.
