Hilton grad Yianni Diakomihalis wins NCAA Division I Championship

Yianni Diakomihalis, a 2017 Hilton graduate and freshman at Cornell University, won the 141-pound division at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Saturday, March 17.
Diakomihalis, the No. 3 seed, used a four-point cradle in the final seconds to defeat No. 1 seed Wyoming’s Bryce Meredith with a 7-4 decision. Diakomihalis trailed 4-3 before the takedown.
Diakomihalis is the second national champion for Cornell. He finishes the year with a 38-1 record. At Hilton, Diakomihalis earned a long list of accomplishments that includes four state championships and two Cadet World Championships.
