Marlin’s Saves Lives Relay fundraiser

Marlins Swimming, Inc. is proud to announce it has become a Make a Splash Foundation partner.  Did you know that 10 people drown each day in the United States and that formal swimming lessons reduces the likelihood of childhood drowning by 88 percent? These statistics are just a couple of reasons why donations raised from the Marlin’s Swimming Saves Lives Relay Fundraiser on April 26 at 6 p.m. at Spencerport High School will be used to host free swim lesson sessions this spring to the Rochester community.  In addition, a percentage of funds will go toward supporting the ongoing operational costs of the team including coaching and facility use costs, new swimmer equipment, training aids and team event expenses, to name just a few.  Donations for this community need can be made by visiting www.YouCaring.com/SwimmingSavesLives

Marlins Swimming, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities for athletes to improve swimming skills and achieve success at their level of ability, from novice to competitor.  The team is also very active in the community and within the past year have hosted a Thanksgiving food drive, sold kazoos for Camp Good Days, volunteered at the Spencerport Mobile Food Pantry, and supported the YMCA Maplewood during their Splash Week by helping with lessons.

The team’s mission is to foster excellence in swimming through education and training with respect to our swimmers’ physical, emotional and social development.  Not only is the team’s goal to help the athletes be the best swimmers they can be in the pool but to also teach them to be the best individuals they can be out of the pool.
