Jake Welch, in his third season of pro baseball, is off to a good start. After a championship season last year where he earned a ring with the Birmingham Bloomfield Beavers of the USPBL league, Welch signed a contract in October 2017 with the Frontier League Windy City Thunderbolts out of Chicago. Welch currently has a two win, no loss record. After three games, Welch has a 3.01 ERA with six earned runs, four BB and 18 strikeouts. Welch, the 6 foot 6 inch right handed pitcher, is a graduate of Spencerport High School and Notre Dame College of Ohio.
