Kevin Durant named Hickok Belt® Award Winner for June 2018
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant has been named the Hickok Belt® Award winner for the month of June 2018. Voting was conducted by a select panel of members of the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). The voters selected Durant for his outstanding performance in leading the Warriors to the NBA Championship. Durant was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row after averaging 28.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists and two blocks per game while sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers in the series.
Other finalists for the month of June in order of how the NSMA voters ranked them included: Alexander Ovechkin (hockey), LeBron James (basketball), Rafael Nadal (tennis), Harry Kane (soccer), Brooks Koepka (golf), J.D. Martinez (baseball), Braden Holtby (hockey), Kyle Barraclough (baseball), and Simona Halep (tennis).
His selection as the Hickok Belt® Award winner for the month of June 2018 recognizes Kevin Durant as “the best of the best” in professional sports for the month and makes him the third candidate eligible to receive the overall Hickok Belt® Award for 2018, joining LeBron James and Nick Foles.
