Junior Nick Williams, freshmen Clay Behlock and Trace Holford and senior Dan Preston each registered falls while seven other Saints received forfeits as Churchville-Chili trounced Honeoye Falls-Lima 76-6 in varsity wrestling.
Williams took 5:33 to pin his 120 lb. opponent and Behlock registered his in 1:50 at 132 lb. two matches later. Holford rebounded from a 1-0 deficit to cradle his 160 lb. challenger in 4:37. Preston had probably the most exciting match taking a 1-0 lead at 285 lb. before getting the pin with just one second remaining in the third period.
Saints sophomore Lucas Preston used a third period escape to eke out a 3-2 victory at 195 lb. before seventh-grader Cael Raines used a six-point second period to take a 10-5 decision at 99 lb. Junior K.J. Liverpool took a 12-3 major decision at 126 lb.
Sophomore Seth Goodman (220 lb.), senior Trent Chick (106 lb.), freshman brothers Dylan Morgan (138 lb.) and Jeff Morgan (170 lb.), freshman Jason Knight (145 lb.), senior Ty Raines (152 lb.) and sophomore Brennan Fingler (182 lb.) all won via forfeit.
The Section V Wrestling Championships begin February 2 in Canandaigua with the final two days February 8 and 9 at The College at Brockport Special Events Recreation Center.
