Spencerport Student-Athletes Care community/volunteer projects
Each of Spencerport’s fall varsity athletic teams has participated in a volunteer community service/charity project through the Spencerport Student-Athletes Care Program during the 2018 fall season.
Boys Soccer – Assisted Spencerport Sports Boosters Club with Food Truck Rodeo set up and clean up.
Girls Soccer – Conducted a free youth Ranger Girls Soccer Skills Academy on Saturdays and beautification of high school entrance landscaping.
Girls Swimming – Participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and hosted “Pink in the Pool” Invitational raising $1,000 for Breast Cancer research.
B/G Cross Country – Assisted with the Spencerport Mobile Food Program.
Girls Tennis – Held a fundraiser for Kertatoconus Research raising $250.
Football – Participated in “Moving Day” for the National Parkinson’s Foundation in honor of longtime volunteer Robert “Pop” Dennis.
Boys Volleyball – Conducted a free youth volleyball clinic and held a food drive to benefit the Spencerport Food Shelf.
Girls Volleyball – Participated in a Reading Program with BOCES 8-1-2 class at Taylor Elementary School.
Girls Golf – Will participate in Pat Chapman Day of Caring – Spring 2019.
Fall Cheerleading – Participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk raising $275.
The Spencerport Student-Athletes Care program won the 1994 National Award of Excellence for Community Relations from Athletic Management Magazine.
