Julian Edelman named February 2019 Hickok Belt® Award Winner
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been named the Hickok Belt® Award winner for the month of February 2019. Voting was conducted by a select panel of members of the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). The voters selected Edelman based on his Super Bowl LIII performance in which he had 10 receptions for 141 yards, helping the Patriots to a 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Edelman was one of the key players in the Patriots Super Bowl victory. He was selected as the February 2019 Hickok Belt® Award winner after being named MVP of Super Bowl LIII.
Other finalists for the month of February in order of how the NSMA voters ranked them included: James Harden (basketball), Tom Brady (football), Phil Mickelson (golf), Denny Hamlin (auto racing), Jordan Binnington (hockey), Vladimir Tarasenko (hockey), Paul George (basketball), Sergey Koralev (boxing), and Reilly Opelka (tennis).
His selection as the Hickok Belt® Award winner for the month of February 2019 recognizes Edelman as “the best of the best” in professional sports for the month and makes him the second candidate eligible to receive the overall Hickok Belt® Award for 2019, joining Tom Brady.
