Hilton High School welcomes three new coaches
Three new athletic coaches have been appointed in the Hilton School District – James DePrez, varsity girls soccer; Michael Harnden, varsity girls volleyball; and Michael Potter, varsity girls cross country.
DePrez has been coaching soccer for the past 20 years at the club and high school levels. An elementary physical education teacher in Hilton, he has coached boys JV soccer for seven years and was Albion’s JV girls coach for six years. Currently, DePrez is also coaching at Empire United Soccer Academy.
A Hilton resident and Hilton High School graduate, DePrez and his wife, Kelda, have four children – Jesse, a sophomore at The College at Brockport; Abi, grade 12; William, grade nine; and Dolly, grade four.
Harnden has been coaching high school and club volleyball since 1989, including Greece Olympia High School, Nazareth Academy and Aquinas Institute. He is currently coaching at the Paradigm Volleyball Club and was the varsity assistant in Hilton this past year.
A Hilton resident, Harnden is employed in information technology for RED Rochester, LLC. He and his wife, Chris, have two children – Meredith, seventh grade, and Owen, fifth grade.
Potter is a Hilton High School ELA teacher and formerly taught special education in Coney Island, Brooklyn and Staten Island. He has coached for 10 years, four years at Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island (freshman coach and varsity assistant for cross country and track and field); and six years total in Hilton as modified cross country coach, varsity cross country assistant and girls indoor track and field head coach.
Potter and his wife, Katie, live in North Chili their sons Brayden (age three) and Quinn (10 months).
