Open Door Mission re-imagines annual golf tournament

In light of COVID-19, the Open Door Mission has re-imagined its 2020 Golf Classic. Although the annual one-day event will not take place on the intended date of Monday, May 18, arrangements have been made for players and sponsors to still take part in a unique golf tournament opportunity. The Golf Classic is now a season long event running until Labor Day.

Foursome teams can register as they normally would at the ODM tournament website at https://birdease.com/ODM2020GolfClassic. In order to participate, player and sponsorship registration fees are due before June 1. The registration fee includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, lunch, and a tee bag gift with a golf shirt, golf balls, and more.

Beginning June 1, registered foursomes can schedule their own tee time directly with the Midvale Golf Club pro shop by emailing mike.kiel@midvalecc.com. Schedule tee time at least five days in advance of desired date. Weekend tee times will be made available anytime after 1 p.m. Participants can play their round anytime before September 7, 2020.

The format for this year’s event will be a team best ball. That means the participants will play their own game and keep their own individual scores. At the end of the round the players will take the best score of the four for each individual hole and add those up for a team score. They would then take a photo of the team scorecard and send it in an email to cscribani@opendoormission.com. First and second place winners will be determined after Labor Day. First place prize is $400 in Midvale Pro Shop credit, second place prize is $200 in Midvale Pro Shop credit.
