Pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau wins September 2020 Hickok Belt® Award

Professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau, nicknamed “The Scientist,” has been named the Hickok Belt® Award winner for September 2020. Voting was conducted by a select panel of members of the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). The voters selected DeChambeau for his winning performance in the 120th U.S. Open Championship, held September 20 at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, New York. This was 26-year-old DeChambeau’s seventh victory on the PGA Tour, including one major championship achievement. The up and comer continues to be a major player on the professional golf tour. 

Other finalists for September in order of how the NSMA voters ranked them were: Victor Hedman (hockey), LeBron James (basketball), Naomi Osaka (tennis), Aaron Rodgers (football) and Gerrit Cole (baseball) – tie, Dominic Thiem (tennis), Marcell Ozuna (baseball), Authentic (John Velazquez, jockey) (horse racing), and Josh Taylor (boxing).

Bryson DeChambeau’s selection as the Hickok Belt® Award winner for September 2020 recognizes him as “the best of the best” in professional sports and makes him the sixth candidate eligible to receive the overall Hickok Belt® Award for 2020, joining Donovan Mitchell, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson, Tyson Fury, and Patrick Mahomes.
