Cadets swimmers defeat Webster

Webster hosted Hilton at the Webster Aquatic Center on January 26. The Cadets swam to a 100 to 85 win.

To get things started, Webster’s Damelio, Ozbas, Vincent, and Wright took first place in the Medley relay with a 1:48.59.  Hilton’s Enser, Gavigan, Enser and Green took second with a 1:51.16.  

The 200 Freestyle was won by Hilton’s Runyon in 1:51.62, while Webster’s Wright took second place with a 2:02.29, and Hall grabbed 3rd (2:02.85). 

Hilton took the top two spots in the 200 IM with Justin Enser in first (2:04.82), and Antonini in second  (2:22.86) while Webster’s Vincent took third(2:26.26). 

A blazing fast 50 freestyle had Webster’s Damelio taking first (21.80), with Hilton’s Jared Enser in second (21.85) and Morreale right behind with a 22.95. 

Webster divers took first, third, and fourth places with Russell Guelli (227.55), Peter Benzoni (147.53), and Wylie Vuillequez (147), respectively. Hilton’s Matthew Wilson took second place with 192 points.    

Hilton’s Justin Enser took first place in the 100 Butterfly (56.07), while Webster’s Ozbas grabbed second (59.10) and Vincent took third with a 1:01.16.  

The 100 freestyle was won by Webster’s Damelio in 47.52 seconds while Hilton’s Jared Enser took second(48.01) and Bateman grabbed third (56.86).  

The 500 freestyle went to Hilton’s Runyon (5:01.30), with Webster’s Hall taking second (5:37.04) and Hilton’s Will Green in third (5:39.13).  

Hilton broke the varsity record in the 200 free relay with Jared and Justin Enser, Alex Morreale, and Jacob Runyon finishing in 1:29.24. Webster’s Wilson, Wright, Ozbas, and Hall took second (1:42.48). 

First and second place for the 100 backstroke went to Hilton’s Morreale (59.69) and Mesh (1:08.00) and third place went to Webster’s Stracke (1:08.79).  

Hilton again grabbed first and second in the 100 breaststroke with Rosario in 1:15.89 and Gavigan close behind with a 1:17.62.  Webster’s Ernst grabbed third place (1:18.11).   

In the 400 Freestyle relay, Hilton’s team of Trent Green, Antonini, Bateman, and Runyon came in first with a 3:40.39.  Second place went to Webster’s Murtha, Stracke, O’Neil, and Damelio (3:52.15). 

The final score had Hilton winning the meet 100 to 85.
