Spencerport’s Keyes, Hilton’s Enser, Runyon win at Section V swimming championships

Hilton 4th, Brockport 6th, Spencerport 7th, Byron-Bergen 7th

Spencerport junior Kameron Keyes tied his season-best time of 1:46.68 to win the Class B 200-yard freestyle, Hilton junior Justin Enser took first in the Class A 100-yard and 50-yard Freestyle in :47.49 and :21.66, respectively, and his Cadets classmate Jacob Runyan touched first in the 100-yard Butterfly in :51.58 at the Section V boys swimming championships.

Keyes finished over four seconds faster than the second-place finisher in the race. He also finished second in the 100-yard Freestyle and was part of the fourth place 200-yard Medley Relay team with freshmen Von Lupiani and Aiden Agostini with senior Garrett Petrykiewicz. 

Agostini took fifth in the 100-yard Breaststroke and Rangers junior Joe DiLalla finished fourth in sectional in Diving with 287.85 points.

In addition to the Cadets three first place finishes, Runyon was third in the 100-yard Backstroke. He and Enser along with William and Trent Green were third in the 200-yard Medley Relay. Enser, Runyon, William Green, and Gianluca Antonini also were third in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.

Brockport’s best finishes came from senior Jacob Falvey, who took second place in the 50-yard Freestyle and third in the 100-yard Freestyle. He also teamed up with juniors Alex Stoker, Gavin Stuhler, and sophomore Jason Kleehammer to finish runner-up in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay.

Churchville-Chili was paced by senior Keegan Wooding’s second place finish in the 500-yard Freestyle and his fourth in the 200-yeard Freestyle.

Byron-Bergen/Leroy’s Class C 200-yard Medley Relay team of sophomore Jackson Fix, junior Aiden Soggs, along with seniors Brady Fix and Peyton Koukides were first in 1:46.79 and second in the 400-yard Freestyle Relay. Jackson Fix also won the 200-yard Freestyle in 1:50.29 and the 100-yard Backstroke in :54.90. Brady Fix was second in the 100-yard Freestyle and the 50-yard Freestyle.

The State Championships will be held March 4 and 5 at Ithaca College.
