Nancy Lopez returns to Locust Hill to celebrate Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp
Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez won three of the first five LPGA events at Locust Hill and played a record 24 tournaments at the club. Today, her legend lives on as the face of women’s golf in the greater Rochester area.
Now, Lopez is returning to Locust Hill to help celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp, which benefited from the local tournament for many years. And, the public is invited to join her on Sunday, July 24.
Fans new and old can connect with Lopez and support the Sunshine Camp in a number of ways on July 24:
•Five Star Brunch: 11 .a.m, in the club’s ballroom with Nancy Lopez as the special guest. Enjoy the chance to meet her in person. The price will be $49 per person.
•Women’s Golf Tournament: 1 p.m., following a special presentation honoring Lopez’s dedication to golf and meeting the needs of individuals with different abilities, she will hit a ceremonial 1st Drive to tee-off the tournament. Foursomes in the event will include outstanding high school and college golfers and will be open to women golfers throughout the area. The cost is $300 per golfer and will include festivities throughout the day.
•All-American BBQ: For golfers, Rotarians, and families. Includes entertainment and activities such as pickleball, platform tennis, a Corn Hole Tournament and use of the club’s swimming pool. The cost of the barbecue is $95 per person.
•Fans may obtain an all-day pass which allows them to enjoy the brunch and barbecue and watch the golfers. The cost for that is $125 per person.
Proceeds will benefit the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp which provides a summer camping experience for 2,500 children with special needs every summer. Lopez will be visiting the camp on Monday for another special presentation.
