The Hilton varsity boys bowling team captured the Class A and Overall Section V Championship on Wednesday, February 15, at ABC Gates Lanes. Despite being down 179 pins after the first three games, the boys roared back and claimed the title by 65 pins over Victor. Junior Matthew Carmestro was the leading bowler with 1,389 total pins, followed by senior Brendan Stephenson’s total pinfall of 1,342 pins. Junior Anthony Getty and seniors Jacob Morrill and Mason Williams put up big scores to secure Hilton’s second championship in the past three years. The Cadets will travel to Strikes & Spares Lanes in Syracuse on March 10 to compete for the New York State Championship.
