Hilton alum Yianni Diakomihalis only fifth Division 1 wrestler in NCAA history to win four championship titles

On March 18, Hilton alum Yianni Diakomihalis defeated Ohio State’s Sammy Sasso in the 149-pound final to become only the fifth Division 1 wrestler in NCAA history to win four championship titles. “I have nothing but gratitude for everyone around me. This year has tested me in ways I could’ve never imagined, and thanks to some of the incredible people around me I stayed focused and stuck to the plan,” Yianni posted on Twitter the day after his win. The Cornell senior is also a four-time All-American, four-time EIWA Wrestler of the Year, and four-time Ivy League Wrestler of the Year. Yianni’s now has his sights set on 2024 Olympics.
