The Annual Hilton Diving Invitational took place last weekend. Churchville-Chili sophomore Kyler Thomas finished second behind Irondequoit junior George Ligozio.
Kyler joined the Churchville-Chili varsity swim team as an eighth grader and quickly climbed the ranks of Section V Diving. As a freshman, Kyler finished his season just 27 points short of a state cut, landing as the third highest scoring diver in Churchville-Chili history.
On Saturday, December 2, Kyler punched his ticket to states with a qualifying score for 457.93, making him the second highest scoring diver in Churchville-Chili history behind 2021 graduate Jacob Calus.
Both George and Kyler will be competing in the State Diving Competition for the first time at Ithaca College on March 1.
