Two sick political parties
Dear Editor,
Americans have lost a huge amount of trust in our neighbors. This stems largely from the politics of desperation playing out among the only two available political parties in America.
Those two political parties have leaders who demonstrate an inability to capture the hearts and minds of good Americans. Republicans have recently embraced two destructive forces: anti-science and pro-authoritarianism. Democrats have recently embraced two equally destructive forces: inhumane holy war in Gaza, and promotion of ballot access for fraudsters and criminals.
These recent policies are in addition to the bedrock anti-American policies the two parties have long stood for. Republicans want accumulation of the nation’s wealth into the hands of a 1% class accompanied by a diminishing of the economic and political rights of the remaining 99%. Democrats want nationalization of society by means of any available welfare champion who will hand out benefits from Washington to whoever comes begging.
We need a centrist political party that reclaims science, ethics, public education, public health, separation of powers, and local regulation of human behavior. We need a party that also curbs rampant luxury and idle leisure and replaces it with active, responsible citizenship. Where, oh where?
