The Proposed Changes to New York’s Equal Rights Amendment (ERA-aka Prop 1) Are Bad for Children, Bad for Parents, Bad for Seniors, and Bad for New York Taxpayers. It is a total ruse; it is a thinly veiled attempt to advance radical ideology in this state. As I see it, Prop 1 would:
Give a Constitutional right to biological males to compete on girls’/womens’ sports teams and enter their private changing and shower spaces.
Prevent parents from knowing if a child is gender transitioning in school, and it would ban school administration from informing parents about their child’s confusion.
Remove the Statutory Rape laws & Elder Abuse laws.
Give Illegal Migrants the right to vote.
These are just some of the outrageous ramifications that could occur if this so-called Equal Rights Amendment is passed. New Yorkers already have Equal Rights Protections under the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution & Section 11 of the NYS Constitution.
