Public health infrastructure
Dear Editor,
This country has been so great for so long in large measure due to our socio-economic infrastructure, things like roads, bridges, internet, small business, military strength, and our helpful little Constitution. But one of the main cornerstones of democratic success throughout history has been public health. No nation can become great if everybody is dead, diseased, or dying.
We have carried personal freedom to such ridiculous lengths today that our leaders could care less about community health and wellness. It’s all about personal wealth and power. MAGA doesn’t want to keep vaccines mandatory because they want the support of high school graduates who never paid any attention to science in school and don’t like anyone telling them what to do.
If you thought a million dead due to the Covid pandemic was a lot, you’d better tighten your seat belts. The conspiracy rogue Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will soon be running the Department of Health and Human Services. Those of us who learned something in science class need to stand up and be heard.
