Monroe County holding mobile household waste and pharmaceutical collections

The Monroe County Department of Environment Services’ annual Mobile Household Hazardous Waste and Pharmaceutical Collections program is returning for 2025.
At these collections, held in partnership with local municipalities, residents can properly dispose of up to 30 gallons of chemicals such as paint, automotive fluids, fertilizers, household cleaners and pool chemicals at no charge.
Appointments are required for all household hazardous waste collections, and may be made by visiting www.monroecounty.gov/ecocpark. Any resident of Monroe County is welcome to schedule an appointment to dispose of household hazardous waste at any location.
The appointments available for municipal household hazardous waste collection are from 7:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the following dates and locations:
•April 26, Gates DPW, 475 Trabold Road
•May 17, Perinton DPW, 100 Cobbs Lane
•June 7, Ogden DPW, 2432 South Union Street
•September 20, Webster DPW, 1005 Picture Parkway
•October 4, Greece DPW, 647 Long Pond Road
In addition, Monroe County is providing four mobile pharmaceutical collection events, three of which will be in partnership with Wegmans Food Markets. Appointments are not required:
•April 12, Churchville Park, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
•May 3, Wegmans, 3701 Mt. Read Boulevard, Greece, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
•July 19, Wegmans, 745 Calkins Rd., Henrietta, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
•September 10, Wegmans, 1955 Empire Boulevard, Webster, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
These are in addition to the standing schedule for residents to drop off household hazardous waste every Wednesday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Monroe County/WM Ecopark at 10 Avion Drive, Rochester 14624.
