Volunteers pitch in during I Love My Park Day at Hamlin Beach State Park

Despite the gloomy weather on May 3, more than 80 volunteers turned out for I Love My Park Day, brightening the day as they spruced up the park for the upcoming season. They helped by planting trees, cleaning shelters, raking and picking up sticks in the park and at the CCC site, getting the campground ready, and cleaning out fireplaces. The Friends of Hamlin Beach State Park (FOHBSP) are grateful to all the participants for their efforts.

Hamlin Lions provided breakfast and lunch to the volunteers with the support of Mark’s Pizzeria in Hamlin.

The FOHBSP is a not-for-profit group that supports the park by beautifying the gardens, maintaining trails, monitoring bird populations, writing grants, and much more. Visit friendsofhbsp.org for more information, to become a member, and learn about upcoming events.
