SUNY Brockport’s DANSCORE

Movement Reveals the Resilience of the Human Spirit
The Department of Dance at SUNY Brockport presents performances of DANSCORE on Thursday, November 20, through Saturday, November 22, at the Hartwell Dance Theater in Hartwell Hall on the Brockport campus. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
This fall’s program features riveting works performed by Brockport students, alumni, and esteemed professional guest performers. Choreography by Brockport’s nationally recognized faculty, including Heather Acomb, Jenise Anthony, Jim Hansen, and Kaley Pruitt, will be shared alongside acclaimed guest artist Pat Taylor, her company, Jazz Antiqua Dance & Music Ensemble, and Pruitt’s company, Kaley Pruitt Dance. The concert offers a diverse range of works across contemporary, modern, Afro-modern, and rooted jazz dance styles. Each piece speaks with a strong voice affirming human resilience, joy, and finding strength and light amidst turbulence and uncertainty.
Pruitt, Artistic Director of DANSCORE 2025, reflects on the program: “This concert brings together diverse choreographic voices on a common theme of shared humanity. Seeing our students perform alongside esteemed alumni and professionals is incredibly rewarding. They have elevated their artistry and worked as a community to bring these various perspectives to life through powerful movement.”
Tickets are $20 for the general public, $15 for senior citizens, Brockport alumni, faculty, and staff, and $9 for students. They are available online at www.fineartstix.brockport.edu, by phone at 585-395-2787, or in person at the Tower Box Office (hours listed on our website).
