SUNY Brockport Receives National Recognition

Nonpartisan 2026 Democratic Engagement Plan

SUNY Brockport has received the 2026 Highly Established Action Plan seal from ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge for the 2026 election cycle. ALL IN’s seal recognizes higher education institutions with strong action plans to increase nonpartisan civic engagement by promoting civic learning and college student voter participation.

“The team continues to implement a nonpartisan democratic engagement plan, creating pathways for students to explore civic issues, develop confidence in their voices, and take an active role in civic life,” said Karen Podsiadly, Director of SUNY Brockport’s Student Union, Leadership, and Activities. “In doing so, they are equipping students with the skills, experiences, and sense of responsibility to engage thoughtfully in their communities, now and in the years ahead.”

ALL IN evaluated institutions based on the three pillars they believe define democratic engagement – civic learning, political engagement, and student voter participation. SUNY Brockport is one of 129 campuses to receive the seal for developing a nonpartisan democratic engagement action plan that earned at least 31.5 out of 36 possible points based on the Strengthening American Democracy Action Planning Guide Rubric

SUNY Brockport previously received the Highly Established Action Plan seal in 2024, along with multiple other seals from ALL IN for the 2018, 2020, and 2022 election cycles.
